The Agence Nationale pour l'Emploi et le Travail Indépendant is a non-administrative public body with legal personality and administrative and financial autonomy. It was created by law no. 93-11 of 17/02/93, under the supervision of the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment.
Its main mission is to implement the government's employment promotion policy, and in particular to :
- Coordinating the employment market at national, regional, local and sectoral levels, notably through the network of employment and self-employment offices.
- Developing information on employment and professional qualifications for companies and jobseekers.
- Implement programs to promote employment and the integration of young people, for which it is entrusted to it by the supervisory authority.
- Provide the necessary support to promote small businesses and self-employment.
- Provide vocational information and guidance for training seekers with a view to their their integration into working life.
- Organize and oversee the placement of Tunisian manpower abroad their implementation.
- Facilitate the reintegration of emigrant workers into the national economy once they have returned home definitively.
